Washington — Senator Evan Bayh issued the following statement today in support of a new IU-Purdue institute that will help convert medical research into life-saving medical treatments and products, after the National Institutes of Health (NIH) announced a $24.7 million federal grant to help create the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute.
“This new institute will help transform the latest medical research into actual treatments that will help save the lives of thousands of people across our state, our nation and the world,” Senator Bayh said.
“This institute will put Indiana on the forefront of cutting-edge research, solidifying our state’s reputation as a national leader in the life sciences.”
