Information on the 56th Presidential Inauguration

The 56th Inaugural Ceremony is January 20, 2009 in Washington, DC

As the 56th Inaugural Ceremonies approach, President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden have worked to make this historic event the most accessible Inauguration ever.

For the first time, the entire length of the National Mall will be open to the public for the Inaugural Swearing-in ceremony on January 20, which will be broadcast live on television and online here.

In addition to the Swearing-in ceremony, there are several Inaugural events that will be broadcast on television, radio and online. More Americans than ever before will be able to share in the celebration of inaugurating our new president right from their own homes.
